Nomadic Studio

In July, I spent a week working on a mural-sized site-specific painting for Nomadic Studio, an exhibition at the DePaul University Art Museum. My idea involved a life-sized train engine and Black angus steer, as well as a page of interview text. The text outlined one woman's family's migratory path from Mississippi to Oklahoma and eventually to omaha as well as the role of the Railroads and Slaughterhouse in making that path possible.

This painting is 97"x260"

Mayacama

This is a big one: 75"x228". Sorry I didn't get any of the source watercolors in the blog before this one was finished. Oh, and all the female figures are modeled on katie.

For this, Eloise chose a portrait of Jane Seymour by Hans Holbein, I assume because of its ornate fabrics and patterns. regardless, this will be used for the postcard publicizing my next show, at Jackson Artworks in March.

Official title is: After Jane Seymour (Holbein) [Dear Eloise]
